What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is hypnosis. It is very helpful with stopping bad habits and instilling new, healthy habits. Hypnotherapy is a very deep relaxation of your mind and body to allow the noise in your mind to quiet down. With the mind focused, the subconscious mind is better able to be reached for positive messages to be received.
We only operate with about 10% of our conscious mind. The remaining 90% of our mind is the subconscious. It is from the subconscious mind that we know how to brush our teeth, drive to work, make breakfast, etc. All habitual routines come from our subconscious mind. Therefore, when you want to change a habit, oftentimes to be effective you need to work at the subconscious level to break or change that habit since that is where it originates. It is when you are hypnotized that the hypnotist can reach the subconscious mind.
As beautifully stated in the book, "The Secret of the Ages" by Robert Collier, "For the power of the subconscious mind is unlimited. Whatever it is necessary for you to do in any right cause, it can give you the strength and the ability to do. Whatever of good you may desire, it can bring to you. But remember this: The subconscious words beneath the surface, and it reasons logically, deductively, from the facts that are given it. It will not go contrary to those facts. If you want to change it, you must give it new and stronger facts to work upon. Not only that, but you must nullify the original facts."
